He graduated from Bay City Central High School Class of 1942. Gerald proudly served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. On May 11, 1946, he married Carmella J. Shafer who preceded him in death on March 30, 2018. Gerald retired as an Electrician from J & L Electric in 1985 after 35 years of service. Gerald was very artistic and enjoyed working with stained glass. He created a cross from the stained glass windows from the original St. James Church, which is viewed at All Saints Elementary School, 2nd floor north.
