Obituary for Warren H. Myrick

Mr. Warren H. Myrick, age 71, passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. The son of the late Warren E. and Virginia (Powers) Myrick, he was born on November 5, 1946 in Detroit and was raised in Memphis, TN. He served his country in the U.S. Army. At age 15 Warren began working in grocery stores and ultimately became store manager for Ray’s Food Fair until 1997. In1985 he became the owner of Grains & Greens Nutritional Foods Stores, which he operated with this family until his passing. Warren enjoyed being involved in his community and was currently serving on the Board of Directors of both the Cool City Car Show and the Salvation Army. He was also an active member of the Bay City Lions Club and Marriage Encounter. He enjoyed classic cars and weekends spent in Port Austin.

On August 7, 1966 Warren married Cindy Obertein and she survives his passing along with their two sons, Steve (Theresa) Myrick of Akron and Scott (Jacquelyn Tomlinson) Myrick of Chesterfield; four grandsons, Michael, Jack, Jordan and Joey Myrick; five brothers, Jimmy (Pam) Myrick, Mike (Sharon) Myrick, Donald Myrick, Kevin (Sharon) Myrick and Dale Myrick; his sister, Faye (Steve) Tenhet; three sisters-in-law, Gloria Dinsmore, Pam Hunter and Carolyn Obertein; and several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Warren was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Michele Myrick; a brother, Mark Myrick; three brothers-in-law, Chester Dinsmore, Wayne Obertein and John Obertein; and a sister-in-law, Jan Myrick.

The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Trahan Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Deacon Gary Patelski with Military Honors following conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cool City Car Show which benefits the American Cancer Society, or to the American Diabetes Association. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Trahan Funeral Chapel. The Lions Club Memorial Service will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. For on-line sentiments:
