Obituary for Thomas S. Cubic

Thomas S. Cubic, of Houghton Lake, Michigan formerly of Bay City, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, age 64. The son of the late Frank and Patricia (Beam) Cubic, he was born on April 13, 1953 in Saginaw. He retired from Saginaw Delphi in 2006 after 34 years of dedicated employment. After retirement Tom and his wife Paula moved to Houghton Lake and also enjoyed their winters in Florida. He was member of the NRA and he loved hunting, fishing, camping, boating, motorcycling and gardening. Most of all, Tom cherished time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. On October 15, 1977 Tom married the former Paula Egan and she survives his passing along with their two daughters: Michelle (Victor) Cruz and Stacey (Robert) Phinney, both of Bay City; his two grandchildren: Samuel Cubic and Olivia Phinney; a sister: Debbie (Stan) Habdas of Caro; his father-in-law: Michael Egan of Essexville; a sister-in-law: Sherry Cubic of Bay City; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Tom was also preceded in death by his brother: David Cubic; and his mother-in-law: Ann Egan. The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at W.A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with interment following at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be considered to the wishes of the family. Visiting hours with the family will be Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. For on-line sentiments: www.trahanfc.com
