Obituary for Marjorie A. Anderson

After her suffering was over, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend died peacefully at her home with her daughter, Sandy by her side on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 to spend this Easter with her Lord. Born February 27, 1922 to the late Joseph and Anna (Haring) McGivern in Bay City, she graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1941. Marge was employed in the School Lunch Program with the Essexville-Hampton School District from which she retired. She was a life-long member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John Church), its Altar Society, the Essexville K of C Auxiliary, and the League of Catholic Women and Men. On July 6, 1940, Marge married Chester Anderson who preceded her in death in 1987 and together they raised four children.

Family members left to cherish her memory are her two daughters and two sons:
Kathy Anderson, Sandra Kantz, William (Vicki) Anderson, Robert (Mary Ann) Anderson; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother: Joseph McGivern; her sister: Hazel Weekley; many nieces and nephews; one special niece, Barb Hammond, and many dear friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son-in-law: Stephen Kantz; brothers: Thomas (Linda), and Mickey (Mary) McGivern; sisters: Arlene (Carl) Englund, June (John) Megger, Louise Hammond; brother-in-law: James Weekley; sister-in-law: Beatrice McGivern.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John Church), 614 Pine, Essexville. Rev. Dale A. Orlik will preside and entombment will follow in St. Patrick Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be designated for the Essexville K of C Auxiliary. Visiting hours with the family will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 2:00 until 8:00 with the Vigil Prayer Service at 6:30 pm at the W. A.
