Obituary for Juanita M. Arocha

Mrs. Juanita M. Arocha, age 93, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, December 18, 2017 at Brian’s House. The daughter of the late Raymundo and Virginia (Jimenez) Mireles, she was born on August 13, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas. In 1946 Juanita moved to Bay City where she worked at the former Chef Restaurant and also at the Mill-End Store for several years. She attended both All Saints Parish – St. James Church and Our Lady of Peace Parish for many years.

On September 28, 1946 Juanita married Alexander D. Arocha and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2004. She is survived by her four children, Ernestine “Tina” (Robert) Stroll of Pennsylvania, Alice Fahrner of Grayslake, IL, Enrique (Bernadette) Arocha of Grandville and Rodolfo “Rudy” (Wenda) Arocha of Kawkawlin; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Juanita was also preceded in death by her brother, Lino Mireles; and her sister, Patsy Mireles.

The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Trahan Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak with interment following at St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Brian’s House. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Trahan Chapel. For on-line sentiments:
