Obituary for James Higgins Carroll

James Higgins Carroll, age 76 years, died peacefully of natural causes Monday, December 25, 2017 at Bay Medical Care Facility in Essexville. He was born on December 30, 1940 to the late John and Alice Carroll. James graduated from Bay City Central High School, Class of 1958. He proudly served in the US Army. James was an active member of All Saints Parish (St. James Church) and the B.P.O.E. Bay City Lodge #88. He retired from Weyerhauser Corporation after many years of dedicated service. James enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, his church, fishing on Lake Superior, traveling and cooking.

Surviving family members include his two children: Catherine Carroll and John Carroll; four grandchildren: Ethan and Mya Sutter; Margaret and Frances Carroll; several other family members: Jann Bostwick (Tami Munley) and Linda Vargo. He was preceded in death by his daughter Anne Carroll and sister, Rosalie Gibowski.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM at All Saints Parish (St. James Church), 710 Columbus Avenue, Bay City, MI. Fr.
Stephen Fillion will preside and private interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Visiting hour at the church 9:00 AM Friday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans, St. James Church, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For on-line sentiments: www.trahanfc.com
