Obituary for David Michael Mateos

David Michael Mateos, age 50, of Essexville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. He was the son of the late David L. Mateos and Janine (Dziurka) Alcorn. David was the father to Alexandrina (Jonathan) Mateos, Andrew Mateos and Amber Alcorn-Mateos; Pepa to Kayleigh and Kyler Mateos; siblings: John (Pam) Mateos, Casey Mateos, Melanie (James) Forbes and Brandon (Carol) Mateos; several nieces and nephews: Courtney, Samantha, Brandy, Bryanne, Haley, Darian, Dylan, Damon, Dominick, Kristine, Kayden, Austin and Tate; his dog Burrito. David was preceded in death by a sister, Deann Mateos and sister-in-law, Sheila Mateos.

David’s passion was cooking and enjoyed preparing meals for many customers during his career. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of collecting M&M figurines, Hot wheels and Coca Cola items. David was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America-holding many positions from Pack Leader to Commissioner.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville. Visitation in church Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. Rev. Dale A. Orlik will preside. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be directed to the wishes of the family.
