Obituary for Cleo E. Wolicki

Cleo E. Wolicki, age 98 years, died peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born on February 11, 1920 to the late Thomas and Lillian Carson in West Virginia. On December 31, 1941 Cleo married John Wolicki in Battle Creek and he preceded her in death in 2007 after 65 years and one day. During WWII Cleo proudly served her country alongside other "Rosie the Riveters" to support those on the front lines. She was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, the League of Catholic Men & Women and the Altar Society. Cleo enjoyed quilting with her friends in the quilting club and sewing. She loved being a homemaker to her family and cherished most of all spending time with them. Through the years Cleo was a caregiver to her many nieces and nephews.

Surviving family members include her three children: James (Linda) Wolicki of Linwood, Judy (Robert) Heinz of Essexville and Gail (Thomas) Hahl of Linwood; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her dog Mickey. Cleo was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Angela Heinz; three brothers and two sisters; and many other family members.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM in St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John Church) 614 Pine St., Essexville. Fr. Dale A. Orlik will preside with Rite of Committal following at St. Patrick Cemetery. Visiting will be at church only Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Liturgy.
