Obituary for BETTY ANN PAWLAK

At the age of 85 years, Betty died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region. She was born to Wallace (Ed) and Gertrude (Sinicki) Peplinski on July 14, 1932 in Bay City, where she resided all her life. Betty was a graduate of Bay City Central High School, class of 1950 and a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish (St. Hyacinth Church). She had a passion for shopping and travel and loved chocolates.

On October 13, 1951, Betty was united in marriage to James E. Pawlak and they shared their lives together for over 52 years until his death on May 7, 2004. Surviving family members include three children, Gary (Dawn) Pawlak, David Pawlak, and Karen (David) Tighe; and a grandson, Kevin Tighe, with whom she enjoyed spending time. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by a son, Michael Pawlak and a sister, Rita Lewandowski.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish (St. Hyacinth Church), 1515 Cass Avenue at Michigan Avenue, Bay City, MI. Betty will lie in state in church Thursday after 9:00 AM. Rev. Richard M. Filary will preside and Rite of Committal will follow in St. Patrick Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with the Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM in the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel.
