My deepest sympathies to Shirley's family at this time. Shirley was very special to my family. Shirley was always such a nice lady and always had a funny story to share. My favorite memory of time spent with Shirley was one of the years (I think there were many) that Shirley and Louie made the Irish Stew for the St. Patricks Day party at the Bay City Yacht Club. She put my sisters and I to work cutting vegetables in the kitchen for the stew. We had a great time in the kitchen that day! Shirley and Louie were both very special to my parents, Ray and Mary Edwards. My dad especially loved visiting Shirley and her kids in the classroom. They knew him as the Coca-Cola man and he would always take the kids, and Shirley a little something special. Shirley and Louie both will always be held in fondest memory by my family.

I have so many fond memories of Mrs. A. I met her back in 1978 when I was in 2nd grade at Riegel. Since I didn't eat my lunch back then, I would give it to her to share with her students. I stayed in contact over the years and will miss her very much. My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Anderson's family.
